Hi, I’m Sully.

I’m a podcast producer, photographer, and documentarian from Western North Carolina.

I love to tell stories that educate an audience while making them feel something at the same time. My work aims to value lived experience and emotion as its own form of information, putting an audience in others shoes. As a practice, I aim to bring inter-personality and compassion back into the creation and distribution of multimedia work.

I co-founded and produced a state-wide and nationally recognized podcast, This Appalachian Life, a narrative-journalism podcast about life in Appalachia. Each episode was reported, produced, and edited by myself and childhood best-friend, Trenton Rose, as we learned to love the region we’d spent our entire lives taking for granted.
